Cedar Hollow Dorset

Press enquiries

For journalists, producers and photographers. Everything else — including guest questions — is better sent through the ordinary contact page.

Three RIBA award-winning treehouses in thirteen acres of West Dorset woodland, built by the woodworker who owns the wood. We are happy to help with stories, and we are strict about two things: guest privacy, and drones.

What we can offer

  • High-resolution photography of all three treehouses, interiors and exteriors
  • Interviews about the buildings, the woodland and the craft background behind them
  • Site visits and shoots, by arrangement and around bookings
  • Architectural detail, award history and build background

Tell us your deadline in the first email. It changes what we can do more than anything else.

Filming and photography

Shoots need arranging in advance. The treehouses are occupied most nights, and a changeover day gives a narrow window between 10am and 4pm — we cannot let a crew into a building with guests in it, or shorten anyone’s stay for a shoot.

Guests are never photographed without their explicit permission, and we will not pass on the names or dates of anyone who has stayed.

Drones

No drone flying over the woodland, at any time, by anyone — press included. It is a small site with guests in it who came here specifically not to be observed. Aerial imagery can be supplied from our own library instead.

Credits

Please credit images as Cedar Hollow Dorset and name the individual treehouse — the Woodsman’s, Dazzle or Pinwheel — where the picture shows one. Where a photographer is named in the file metadata, please carry that credit too.

Supplied imagery is licensed for editorial use in connection with the story it was requested for. Anything else, ask us.

Previous coverage

The treehouses have appeared on George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces and Grand Designs: House of the Year on Channel 4, on BBC Two’s Mastercrafts, and on The World’s Most Secret Hotels.

In print and online, coverage includes The Times, The Telegraph, The Independent, the Evening Standard, the Daily Mail, GQ, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Condé Nast Traveller, Country & Town House, Country Living, Metro, designboom, the RIBA Journal and Architecture.com.
