A competition for craftspeople
We are opening our next retreat to the people who build things. Design it, and help us build it.
Every Cedar Hollow retreat was drawn by someone who understood timber before they understood plans. We are looking for the next one, and we would rather find them through their work than through a directory.
So we are running a competition, open to craftspeople across the United Kingdom, to design a treehouse retreat for our woodland. It will be judged alongside an architecture partner, who we will announce here.
The winning design will not stay on paper. It gets built.
Your drawing becomes a Cedar Hollow retreat, developed with our architecture partner into something that can actually be built.
You stay with the project through construction, rather than handing the design over at the door and reading about it later.
You work alongside the team putting it up, so the finished retreat is the one you drew and not an approximation of it.
The architecture partner, the opening date and how to submit are being settled now. Tell us you want to enter and we will send you the brief and the dates as soon as they are fixed, before it is announced anywhere else.
